The intangible foundation of Four Walls Renovation & Construction Company, 189 Ridgeview Road South, Elizabethtown, is a love for construction projects and a fascination with design trends.

Managing partners Andrew Schoenberger and Trent DeArment opened the business in October 2020 when they saw an opportunity to put an innovative twist on general contracting. Using their 40 combined years of expertise in real estate and restaurant construction, renovation, and remodeling, Schoenberger and DeArment strive to create unique functional spaces using quality products and workmanship.

As a Realtor and the owner of Homegrown Outdoor Finishes, DeArment has an eye for enhancing a property's perceived value and improving its appeal. He noted that his real-time experience with design and interior trends has helped Four Walls quickly break into a competitive industry.

Schoenberger has served as project manager for the design, construction, and opening of six restaurants, including quick service and upscale casual. The skills learned in that process can be applied to the management of any home improvement project.

"As a restaurant general manager and owner, you learn to be very hands-on within your four walls. That's how the (business) name was derived," Schoenberger explained. "This necessity to save money drives you to learn how to fix, repair, and build anything and everything you can."

Four Walls offers general contracting services, managing projects from start to finish. The business takes the lead in coordinating labor, materials, equipment, vendor partners, and outside resources necessary to complete all aspects of commercial and residential construction projects in Lancaster, York, Dauphin, and Lebanon counties. Four Walls operates with the understanding that listening, leading, and leveraging are critical aspects of positive and productive relationships with clients.

"Four Walls takes the burden of calling three electricians, three plumbers, three carpenters, etc., to find the best price and most reliable service (off the customer)," Schoenberger said. "We line up the subcontractors, streamline all costs into one payment, manage the project timeline, and follow up with any issues that arise. From start to finish, we take the work out of your hands."

Schoenberger and DeArment grew up in Elizabethtown and live in the area with their families. They are committed to serving their hometown and surrounding areas. The men are members of Elizabethtown Rotary Club and the Elizabethtown Chamber of Commerce. Schoenberger was a founder of Main Street Improving Business/Visit Elizabethtown, which was a downtown economic revitalization organization. DeArment has invested in several rental projects to help the community.

"(We) both have a personal interest to use (our) experience to make the area better," Schoenberger remarked. "Four Walls can help improve homes, which will bring more interest to our small town."
