Jennifer Geubtner-May, director of OLLI, talked about the organization and its participation in Give Local York (GLY), a countywide day of fundraising set for May 1:

What is the mission of OLLI at Penn State York?

Enhancing the quality of life for mature adults who love to learn.

Why is the organization excited to participate in Give Local York this year?

OLLI at Penn State York has approximately 700 members and two full-time employees. Our OLLI, as well as the other 123 OLLIs across the country, rely heavily on the volunteer hours given by our members. Last year was our first year participating in GLY, and it was a new experience for everyone. The months of planning prior to GLY 2019 were tiring and nerve-racking but extremely rewarding. This year we have some "lessons learned" from 2019 and look forward to new ideas, increased creativity, and - as always - fun as we plan our 2020 GLY campaign. It will all be worth it on May 1, GLY day!
