CAP Volunteers at Annual Fundraiser

The Lancaster Composite Squadron of the Pennsylvania Civil Air Patrol (CAP) assisted at the 42nd annual Labor Day Auction for Hospice and Community Care on Sept. 5 and Sept. 7. The event was held at the Solanco Fairgrounds in Quarryville.

The Labor Day Auction raises funds to provide hospice, palliative care, and bereavement support services to the community. The event features a variety of items for sale and auction, including quilts, furniture, artworks, Amish-made food, vacations, sports memorabilia, sheds, and vehicles. This year's auction raised over $1 million.

Lancaster CAP cadets and senior members worked alongside the event staff, assisting with shuttle service, traffic control, and parking for vendors and patrons. CAP assists with the auction every year. Service to the community, state, and nation is a primary part of the cadet programs within CAP.

The Lancaster Composite Squadron meets each Monday except holidays at 6:30 p.m. at Alliance Aviation, located inside the Lancaster Airport terminal located at 500 Airport Road, Lititz. Visitors are welcome.
