Dog Circus, Indian Music Concerts Set

A Family Fun Fest program featuring Cirque du Canines will take place on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 3 p.m. The collaboration of former Ringling touring performer Gail Mirabella and longtime trick dog performer Michelle Harrell, Cirque du Canines is a dog circus featuring flying disc tricks, high jumps, dog dancing and agility, comedy, music, and a live dog painting. There is a fee, with a discount for students. Free children's activities and crafts will be available in the lobby an hour before showtime.

Rhythm of Life: Healing Through Rhythm and Music will be presented on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. Grammy-winning tabla maestro and Guggenheim Fellow Sandeep Das and bansuri artist Jay Gandhi will offer an interactive journey into North Indian classical music. The audience will explore Indian musical concepts of melody, rhythm, spiritual composition, and disciplined practice. Das and Gandhi will share how they believe this centuries-old musical tradition can connect people more deeply to culture, creativity, and well-being.

In addition, Das will present Raga, Rhythm, and Rasa on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. This intimate chamber music concert will explore the navarasa - the emotional sentiments of Indian classical music. Attendees may relax onstage on a cushion or chair, or in the spaced-out auditorium seating. There is a discount for students.
