Women's Club to Meet

The Millersville Woman's Club will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 222 N. George St., Millersville.

Kathy Brabson will speak on the life of Thaddeus Stevens. The Thaddeus Stevens & Lydia Hamilton Smith Center recently opened in downtown Lancaster, giving extra significance to this presentation.

Brabson is the author of the book "Life of Thad Stevens: What Part of 'All Men Created Equal' Do You Not Understand?" She received her B.S. in elementary education from Millersville University and both her M.Ed. and Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from Penn State University. Since her retirement from the Penn Manor School District, where she served as a classroom teacher and principal, Brabson has written three books, including the book on Stevens. She is a member of both the Millersville Area Historical Society and the Conestoga Area Historical Society and volunteers at LancasterHistory.
