Honey Brook Borough's 2026 Concerts in the Park series will continue on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. with a performance from the Tommy Froelich Band, a Chester County-based rock and blues outfit that describes itself as having "high energy, guitar-driven power with a whole lot of soul."

"I'd say it's a soulful, energetic and familiar sound," described Froelich. "It's all based off of classic rock and blues that I've listened to through my life. ... It's rock 'n' roll with a blues flair."

Concertgoers will have to hope for some better weather this time around; the last scheduled show in the series was postponed due to rain. The makeup date for Ironwood Drive is yet to be announced. The series also consisted of shows by Poor Man's Gambit on June 14 and the Westtown Road Band on July 19. All shows take place in Honey Brook Borough Park, 71 Pequea Ave. (Route 10).

In lieu of an admission fee, nonperishable food donations will be accepted for the Honey Brook Food Pantry. Alcoholic beverages and dogs are prohibited in the park. In the event of inclement weather postponement or cancellation, the borough will post an alert to its Facebook page by 3 p.m. on the day of the show.

Growing up, some of Froelich's neighbors had a band, something he now credits with piquing his interest in music. Eventually, life happened, and Froelich stopped playing for a decade. Life happened again in 2009, when Froelich lost a corporate job and was thrust back into the music scene.

Since then, Froelich has played up to 200 dates a year. Along with repairing instruments, Froelich makes a living off music. He uses a rotating cycle of musicians to support his shows, using 15 different musicians last year. The lineup for the Honey Brook concert will be Glenn Ferracone on drums, Phil D'Agostino on bass and Chris Uyvari as the guitarist.

Froelich does shows both individually and with the band. In September, he will be all over the region, performing in West Chester, Downingtown, Essington and all the way up in the Poconos.

In the past, the band was named as Philadelphia's 102.9 WMGK house band of the year in 2015-16 and also performed a set supporting Joe Walsh and Bad Company at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, N.J., during that timeframe.

"Instead of looking for gigs, gigs were coming to me," Froelich said of that time period. "They're saying your name on the radio. At that time, they were doing voiceovers all the time. ... That kind of changed direction for me. If you want it to be a full-time position, there's no better time to do it than when they're saying your name on the radio every day for a whole solid year."

Froelich has released three albums: "Roads Less Traveled" (2016), "Together" (2022) and "Chester County Bound." Much of his discography is available on platforms like Spotify, although Froelich emphasized the importance of supporting local artists by attending live shows.

"Usually, people are fed what they're fed through media sources," he explained. "Local artists, there's so many talented ones around here, just in Chester County alone. It's hard to get people to know who they are unless they come out and support live music."

At the Honey Brook show, Froelich said that the crowd can expect a guitar-derived rock show. Additionally, he said that copies of his records will be available for purchase at the concert.
