Measles Vaccines Available at Giant and Martin's

Following a recent report by the Pennsylvania Department of Health that measles cases are on the rise, Giant and Martin's has announced that measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccines are available at its in-store pharmacies.

The MMR vaccine can prevent measles, a highly contagious disease that can lead to serious complications, particularly in young children and unvaccinated individuals. The CDC recommends two doses, which provide approximately 97% protection.

Subject to state regulations, Giant and Martin's pharmacies in Pennsylvania can vaccinate customers age 8 and up without a prescription if they meet the eligibility requirements. Pharmacists are available to review vaccination status with patients, provide vaccine education, administer vaccines to eligible patients, and help patients determine if they need catch-up vaccination.

Walk-in vaccinations are available, but customers can save time by booking an appointment at http://www.giantfoodstores.com/pages/tgc-vaccines or http://www.martinsfoods.com/pages/tgc-vaccines. Customers should bring their prescription insurance card and speak with a pharmacist to determine vaccine eligibility and availability. Parental consent is required for children under the age of 18, and a parent or legal guardian must be present on-site.
