United Way Awards Scholarships

United Way of Lancaster County recently awarded more than $102,875 in Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Pre-K Scholarships. The scholarships are intended to help children and families across Lancaster County.

Through Pennsylvania's EITC program, eligible businesses receive tax credits for contributions made to qualified organizations like United Way of Lancaster County. The contributions to United Way are then transformed into scholarships for families experiencing financial hardship, helping children to access early learning programs. By increasing access to these opportunities, United Way hopes to strengthen both family stability and long-term community well-being.

Scholarship funding was distributed to the following early childhood education providers throughout Lancaster County: Diamond Street Early Childhood Center, more than $40,559; Elizabethtown Child Care Center, more than $21,806; Elizabethtown Community Nursery School, more than $3,891; Lititz Christian Early Learning Center, $8,550; Little People Day Care School of Columbia, $3,300; Luthercare for Kids, more than $6,093; Tomorrow's World Early Learning Center, $3,375; U-GRO Learning Centres, $2,250; and Uni-Vision Childcare in Lancaster, $13,050.
