The 52nd annual Mount Gretna Art Show will fill the wooded streets and parks of the historic Chautauqua community on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. GPS users may navigate to 101 Chautauqua Drive, Mount Gretna.

Consistently ranked among the nation's top outdoor art festivals - including recognition in Sunshine Artist's 200 Best - the Mount Gretna Art Show brings together 200 juried fine artists and craftspeople from across the country.

The Mount Gretna International Film Festival (MtGIFF) is expanding this year to take place on both days of the Art Show. MtGIFF will be held at the Mount Gretna Playhouse. For the schedule, visit http://www.mtgiff.com.

The art show will feature fine art, sculpture, jewelry, photography, ceramics, fiber art, and more. It will include an Emerging Artists Section spotlighting rising talent.

Visitors may enjoy gourmet food from local restaurants. Craft beer and wine from Snitz Creek Brewery will be available in the Hall of Philosophy.

A Kids' Art Show will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. It will offer make‑and‑take projects and more, sponsored by the Mount Gretna Arts Council.

Live music will be provided throughout the weekend by regional and national performers. On Aug. 15, the Fourth Planet will perform from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The group features Tony Miceli on vibraphone; Andy Roberts, keyboards; Steve Meashey, bass; and Dan Monaghan, drums.

The Edilson Sobagal Latin Jazz Ensemble will perform from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The group features Edilson Sobagal on drums; Ryan Kauffman, saxophone; John Gingerich, bass; and Hector Rosado, percussion.

The Mount Gretna Marching Band will present a strolling performance at 4 p.m.

On Aug. 16, Tom Hilliker: Friends and Family will be featured from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The performers will be Tom Hilliker on bass; Jerry Hilliker, guitar; David Hilliker, drums; Bob Meashey, trumpet and flugelhorn; and Andy Roberts, piano.

The Hot Club of Reading All Stars will play New Orleans jazz from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The group features Ken Gehret, fiddle and vocals; Chris Heslop, saxophone, clarinet, and washboard; Josh Taylor, guitar; and Bruce Campbell, bass.

Emerging musicians will offer pop‑up performances throughout the weekend.

Parking is available at Soldiers Field on Timber Road near the lake, with shuttle service from WellSpan Philhaven. The Mount Gretna Volunteer Fire Company will offer shuttle service for people with disabilities. Parking is free.

During show hours, Route 117 will be closed, and traffic patterns will be adjusted. All routes will be marked and staffed.

There is an admission fee, with a discount for those who pay with cash. Children under age 12 will receive free admission. No pets are permitted on the Art Show grounds.

Proceeds from the Art Show support the cultural programs of the Pennsylvania Chautauqua, contribute significantly to the Mount Gretna Volunteer Fire Company, and fund community projects throughout the area. Media support is provided in part by a grant from the Lebanon County Commissioners.
