Blue Rock Heritage Center, 2251 River Road, Washington Boro, will host a presentation on Sunday, June 14, at 2 p.m. Hosted by the Lower Susquehanna Archaeological Society, the program will be "The Susquehanna River Islands: Changing Composition and Uses." It is geared for adults.

Numerous islands that are part of Lancaster County dot the Susquehanna River. Before the activation of 20th-century dams, many more did. Indigenous people, colonists, and people since the Revolutionary War have interacted with the islands in a variety of ways. In her presentation, Tanya Kevorkian will reconstruct the islands' changing composition and uses.

Kevorkian is a professor of history at Millersville University. Her specialties include Colonial Pennsylvania, German, and environmental history. The upcoming presentation is related to her book "People and the Environment in the Area of Lancaster, PA Since 1300." Kevorkian holds a doctorate degree.
