Memorial Day Flea Market Posted

Cub Scout Pack 37 has announced a Memorial Day flea market. The event will take place on Monday, May 25, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hempfield Fire Department pavilion, 19 W. Main St., Landisville.

During the flea market, the Scouts will run a concession stand offering food items such as breakfast sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, and smoked pulled pork sandwiches. The funds raised will help to support Pack 37.

The Cub Scout pack seeks to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices throughout their lives by instilling values such as trustworthiness, loyalty, and kindness. The Scouts practice these values through projects like Scouting for Food, during which they collect and sort thousands of pounds of food for a local food pantry. The pack also helps to provide funding and volunteers to prepare warm meals for community members in need several times a year. In addition, running the concession stand at the flea market helps Scouts to practice teamwork, responsibility, and basic financial skills. Other Scouting activities include campouts, the Pinewood Derby, and paying tribute to fallen members of the military.

Flea market spaces are available to rent, with a higher fee for spots under the pavilion. For more information or to reserve a space, visit http://www.pack37.com or call 717-742-0855.
