Historical Society Sets Presentation

The Elizabethtown Historical Society, 57 S. Poplar St., Elizabethtown, will hold a presentation titled "From Valley Forge to the Monmouth Battlefield" on Tuesday, May 19, at 7 p.m.

The program will be presented by Teresa St. Angelo, an experienced historian, educator, and museum director.

The presentation will explore how George Washington's Continental Army survived the brutal winter at Valley Forge and emerged better trained, disciplined, and prepared to face British forces at the Battle of Monmouth. Through insightful narration and historical context, the program will highlight daily life in the winter encampment, the army's evolving training and discipline, personal stories of sacrifice, and the lasting legacy of the Battle of Monmouth in the American Revolution.

St. Angelo is the director of the Winters Heritage House Museum and the Seibert Genealogy and Research Library. She has more than 20 years of experience in education, along with a strong academic background in history and education. Her service as a Teacher-in-Residence with the Library of Congress and an active member of the Monmouth County Historical Society and the Battleground Historical Society in New Jersey enriches her ability to bring Revolutionary War history to life.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided. For more information, call 717-361-9382 or email info@etownhistory.com.
