Public Comment Period Opens

The Lancaster County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has begun a 30-day public review and comment period for the Draft Lancaster County FY2023-2026 Transit and Highway Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP outlines the county's federally funded transportation improvement priorities and is required for the county to receive and spend federal transportation dollars. The public will have the opportunity to provide comments on the TIP and related documents until Monday, June 13.

The TIP is a listing of highway, bridge, transit, and miscellaneous transportation projects that are expected to move through the project development process over the next four years. The accompanying Air Quality Conformity Analysis (AQCA) document demonstrates project conformity to federal air quality standards.

The draft TIP, the AQCA report, and related documents are available for review at http://www.lancompo.org/2023-tip. These documents are also available for review at the Lancaster County Planning Department at the Lancaster County Government Center, 150 N. Queen St., Lancaster.

Three public meetings will be held on the TIP and related documents. On Monday, May 23, at 2:30 p.m., the Lancaster County Planning Commission will receive comments at its regularly scheduled meeting at the Lancaster County Government Center or online via Lifesize. On Wednesday, June 1, a virtual public meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Lifesize. On June 13, the Transportation Technical Advisory Committee will receive comments at its regularly scheduled meeting at 12:30 p.m. at the Lancaster County Government Center or via Lifesize.
